This estimate uses the choices above. Your actual payslip can differ because reported insurance income, tax, exemptions, settlement items, or company payroll rules may differ.
What this estimate includes
Enter your gross monthly salary to estimate Korea's employee National Pension, health insurance, long-term-care insurance, and employment-insurance deductions. Because income tax depends on personal tax information, this tool shows an insurance-only result unless you add the monthly tax from a payslip or the official National Tax Service calculator.
How the calculation works
- The calculator subtracts any non-taxable amount you identify, then applies the selected 2026 employee insurance rates using integer Korean won and rounds each estimated contribution down to the nearest KRW 10.
- National Pension uses a 4.75% employee rate and a standard monthly income between KRW 410,000 and KRW 6,590,000 for July 2026 through June 2027. The estimated basis is rounded down to KRW 1,000 before the minimum and maximum are applied.
- Health insurance uses a 3.595% employee rate, long-term-care insurance uses a 0.4724% employee income rate, and employment insurance uses a 0.9% employee rate.
- If you enter monthly income tax plus local income tax, the tool subtracts that amount without transmitting it or trying to infer your tax circumstances.
Assumptions
- Gross monthly salary means pay before employee deductions, and non-taxable pay is entered only when it is identified as non-taxable on a contract or payslip.
- The contribution base entered here is an estimate; the standard monthly income reported to an insurance agency can differ from the current month's gross pay.
Example
For KRW 3,000,000 gross monthly pay with all three insurance choices on and no non-taxable amount, the tool estimates KRW 291,520 in employee insurance deductions and KRW 2,708,480 remaining before income tax. If a payslip or the NTS calculator shows KRW 81,780 in monthly income and local income tax, entering it changes the estimate to KRW 2,626,700.
Limits and cautions
- This is a planning estimate, not a payroll statement, tax filing result, or decision about insurance eligibility.
- All three insurance switches start on for a simple employee estimate, but actual coverage can vary by age, nationality, visa, bilateral social-security agreement, and employment arrangement.
- Income tax is not estimated automatically because withholding depends on taxable salary and family information; a result without entered tax is labeled before income tax.
- Year-end tax settlement, bonuses, retroactive payroll, employer deductions, pension refunds, and country-specific social-security agreements are outside this calculation.
- Rates, contribution limits, and individual coverage can change. Confirm an important decision with the relevant official agency or your payroll office.
