Count days from dates you have officially confirmed
This calculator does not guess a stay period from your nationality or visa type.
Use the date shown by Korean immigration, such as the HiKorea visa expiry check, your residence card, or an official notice. Do not use a date estimated from a blog or travel rule.
Open the official HiKorea expiry checkDays until entered end date
- Entered date span
- Days counted through check date
- Entered last date
- Planned departure check
Remaining days exclude the check date and include the entered end date. The full entered span counts both its start and end dates.
Before you rely on the result
Confirm the official date and any extension or departure question with Korean immigration. The Immigration Contact Center provides multilingual information on weekdays.
What this estimate includes
Enter a start date and the permitted-until date you have already confirmed through Korean immigration. The calculator counts the inclusive span, shows the number of full calendar days after your chosen check date, and optionally compares a planned departure date. It never infers a legal stay limit from nationality or visa type.
How the calculation works
- The full entered span counts both the start date and the permitted-until date. For example, August 1 through August 3 is a three-calendar-day span.
- Remaining days are the calendar-date difference between the check date and the entered permitted-until date. The check date is excluded and the entered end date is included, so the result is zero when both dates are the same.
- An optional planned departure is compared only with the entered start and end dates. The comparison does not determine whether departure, re-entry, an extension, or any other immigration action is legally permitted.
- All calculations use dates without times, time zones, visa categories, nationality rules, or assumptions about immigration status.
Assumptions
- The user copies the permitted-until date from a current official source such as HiKorea, a residence card, or an official immigration notice.
- The entered start date and permitted-until date describe the period the user intends to count; the calculator does not independently validate either date.
- A calendar-day result is useful for planning and asking questions but is not an official immigration determination.
- Any application, extension, departure, or re-entry decision will be confirmed separately with Korean immigration.
Example
If the confirmed start date is August 1, 2026 and the entered permitted-until date is October 29, 2026, the inclusive entered span is 90 calendar days. When checking on August 11, there are 79 full calendar days after that check date through October 29.
Limits and cautions
- This tool does not calculate a permitted stay from a visa type, visa-free rule, passport, nationality, entry record, or residence status.
- It cannot confirm whether you are lawfully staying in Korea, whether an extension has been approved, or whether a planned departure date is acceptable.
- A visa validity date, residence-card validity date, permitted period of stay, and deadline in an official notice may have different meanings. Use the date identified by immigration for your exact question.
- If the entered date has passed or is close, contact 1345 or the responsible immigration office promptly instead of relying only on the calculation.
- HiKorea procedures and eligibility can change. Check the current official page before applying or making travel arrangements.
